The National Comedy Center is located in Jamestown, NY, approximately 45 minutes from Fredonia, also in Chautauqua County. Each year, the Center organizes the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival.
Lucille Ball was born in Jamestown. She was featured in the 1938 Marx Brothers movie Room Service. She and Harpo recreated the mirror scene from Duck Soup in the classic 1955 episode of I Love Lucy. As stated on the National Comedy Center's website, "The National Comedy Center embodies Lucille Ball’s vision for her hometown of Jamestown, New York to become a destination for the celebration of comedy in a way that educates, fosters and inspires."
