Resources Summary

A diagram titled "use JoVE to support all levels." three circles, highlighting JoVE core, JoVE science education, and JoVE lab manual, are linked together with arrows.JoVE (Journal of Visual Experiments) is the world-leading producer and provider of science videos with the mission to improve scientific research and education.

SUNY Fredonia is currently subscribed to JoVE Education, which consists of three components:

  • JoVE Science Education: A revolutionary video library dedicated to teaching scientific and clinical fundamentals through easy-to-understand video demonstrations. With text translations and subtitles in over 10 languages, 500+ videos on topics commonly taught in science courses capture key conceptual and methodological details that are difficult to visualize using text alone.
  • JoVE Core: Video textbooks for introductory courses that can serve as effective primary or supplementary teaching resources. Key concepts are brought to life through high-impact animations and scientist-in-action videos of experiments conducted in laboratory settings.

  • JoVE Lab Manual: Curriculum-focused video resources that support teaching and learning of commonly taught introductory labs. Three separate videos with step-by-step instructions for each lab experiment illustrate lab preparation for instructors, key theoretical concepts, and a protocol for students.

A more detailed summary of each component can be found below.
