Reed Library is excited to introduce Reed Essentials—a series of digital badge courses designed to enhance students' academic and professional skills. These self-paced courses are hosted in FREDLearn and offer students a chance to earn digital badges that can be shared with instructors, added to resumes, or showcased on professional networks like LinkedIn.
How It Works:
To get started, please email Christina.Hilburger@fredonia.edu. You will need to share your course roster for students to be enrolled.
Duration: 2–2.5 hours
Description: This non-technical course introduces key AI concepts, including fundamentals, ethical considerations, and practical applications. Students will learn how AI impacts society and develop skills for responsible AI use. The course aligns with SUNY’s revised information literacy outcomes, helping students effectively evaluate and ethically use AI tools. Completion earns an AI Literacy badge.

Students will learn to consider diverse perspectives, practice ethical advocacy, and resolve conflicts constructively. The course supports SUNY's Civics and Service Agenda by promoting civic engagement and democratic dialogue.
