Getting Started with Research @ Reed Library: APA

About APA Style

APA stands for the American Psychological Association. The APA citation style is used most often in the social sciences, including psychology, sociology, and education.

This guide serves as a starting point. The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association is much more in-depth and is the official standard for APA Style.

Note: As the 7th edition was published recently, some departments and instructors may still be using the 6th edition. You should always consult your instructor to determine which edition they want you to use for your assignments.
