Reed S.K.I.L.L.S. is a new program that invites students to propose and lead learning lab workshops on topics they are passionate about. If your idea is selected, you’ll be paired with a librarian who will support you through the planning process. While the librarian serves as a guide, the workshop itself will be created, facilitated, and taught by you.
This program offers an opportunity to showcase your expertise, strengthen your teaching and leadership skills, and gain valuable experience in designing and delivering a workshop.
Proposals for Fall 2025 due:
Monday, September 22.
Your proposal will be reviewed using this evaluation rubric.
Submit your proposal. Share your idea through the Reed S.K.I.L.L.S. Proposal Form.
If accepted, you will be matched with a librarian. The librarian will help you refine your idea and guide the planning process.
Plan your workshop. You will take the lead in designing the content and activities, with support from one of our instruction librarians. Selected students will complete a short Workshop Facilitation Badge that walks through each step and helps prepare the workshop for promotion.
Facilitate and teach. Run your workshop in the library and share your expertise.
Reflect and share. Afterward, you’ll have the chance to reflect on your experience and celebrate your work.
