ReedSearch: FAQs

FAQs

Will I be able to search the databases?  Will other services be available?

Yes, you can still search Reed Library's databases and research guides. These features and others are accessible from the library's homepage.  Depending on your research needs, going directly to the databases may be the most efficient way to find some resources, particularly articles.

How can I get help?  Can I receive training?
Stop by the Reference Desk, email reedref@fredonia.edu, or call 673-3222.   For reference assistance at any time, use Chat Live with a Librarian 24/7.

Why did Reed Library change from its previous catalog and move to ReedSearch (Primo)?

All SUNY libraries use Alma/Primo.  The contract between SUNY and the previous system, Aleph, expired in 2020.  SUNY's Office of Library and Information Services chose Alma/Primo (products of ExLibris, a company prominent in libraries).

What did ReedSearch replace?

1.  Reed Library's "Classic Catalog"

2.  "OneSearch"
