SUNY Fredonia uses the Library of Congress Classification System (LCC) to assign call numbers to most print materials--books, periodicals, and music scores.
The Library of Congress Classification System is divided into large subject areas which are called "classes." All classes--and subclasses--begin with one, two, or three letters followed by a number which represents more specific aspects of a subject.
This page shows you how to read a call number and lists call number ranges for computer science materials.
Books on computer science have call numbers starting with QA 75.5 and ending with QA 76.95:
|LC Call Numbers||Description|
|QA76.15||Dictionaries & Encyclopedias|
|QA76.16 → .165||Communication of Computer Science Information|
|QA76.2.A2 → Z||Biography|
|QA76.25||Computer Science as a Profession. Vocational Guidance|
|QA76.27 → .33||Study & Teaching. Research|
These books are located on the third floor of the Carnahan-Jackson Center.
