New York Times: Registration Instructions

New Users

Students, faculty, and staff registering to access the The New York Times digitally for the first time can set up a new account by completing the following steps:

  1. Search for and click the listing for SUNY Fredonia
  2. Click Create Account and complete registration fields
  3. Register using your email address (for added security, please select a unique password that differs from your Fredonia e-services password)
  4. Download your free NYT mobile app.

Once registered, users may login to access and the mobile applications from any location in the world on any web-enabled device. (Click here for a set of printable instructions.)

Existing Users

For those with existing accounts from previous semesters, access is easy! You will simply need to visit and login using your Fredonia email address and the password you created.

Using The New York Times in Your Classes

Visit to find ways to integrate The Times into your course, an extensive library of instructional strategies from faculty already using The Times, and other resources.

Reactivating Your Subscription

Once you have activated your account, you are given an Academic Pass that is valid for 4 years. After expiration, you may activate a new pass as long as you are connected to the SUNY Fredonia network.
